Bintan Island is a small island in the province of Riau, East of Sumatra and easy
to access by boat or ferry from Batam or Singapore. With long white sandy beaches,
a multitude of coconut trees and a quiet atmosphere, yet offering full security, this resort
is one of the best places to relax for a while from the crowded world. Many bungalows are provided
that stretch along the beaches. Beside water-sport activities, three golf courses are available.
Due to its nearness to Singapore, Bintan island is a popular weekend destination for many Singaporeans.
However, don't wonder if your are completely alone on the beach during working days.
Don't expect much more than a perfect beach, a wonderful atmosphere to relax and maybe the usuall hotel entertainment programs. It is possible to book some nice tour packages, but the main tourist attraction is the beach.
Bintan is not reachable by air.
The resort area can best be reached by ferry from Singapore.
There is a regular ferry service operated by Bintan Resort Ferries
to travel between Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal
in Singapore and Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal in Bintan. The journey takes about 55 minutes.
From Indonesia, there are regular speedboat services running between Telaga Punggur Ferry Terminal in Batam and
Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal Bintan. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes.
And a Pelni cruise ship sails to Jakarta weekly.
