Nusa Tenggara is a group of 148 small islands that scatter from Lombok Island in the West
to Alor Island in the East. Each island has its unique culture as well as a special natural beauty.
This is the home of the famous stone-slab tombs and the traditional cultures of the Sumba and
Sasak people, of the magnificent three coloured lakes of Kelimutu, the sacred mountains of
Gunung Rinjani and, last but not least, of the world′s largest lizard, the Komodo dragon.
Despite the fact that Nusa Tenggara is the poorest region of the nation, the land and the people
remain remarkably strong in the face of life′s hardships, and they are helpful, curious and
amazingly friendly to visitors.
